I built this practice to support women across multiple entry points - because the work you need this year might be different from what you needed last year, or what you'll need next year.
Here's the full menu:
Clinical Therapy (NJ + PA with Dr. V, PA with Jody) - Licensed, private-pay mental health counseling. Individual and couples. Best for mental health concerns, trauma, relationship work, and clinical diagnoses.
The Crown Check™ (20 min / $97) - A quick, one-on-one consultation to talk about what's going on and figure out where you actually belong. Fastest way to get in front of me.
The Naked Confidence Protocol™ (NCP) (8 weeks/ group coaching) - My flagship clinical group program for women navigating Fat Brain/ The After Identity Gap™ after weight loss, divorce, or major life transformation. Available worldwide.
The Naked Truth Masterclass (Free - live quarterly) - A 90-minute live training where I walk you through the full After Identity Gap™ framework and show you what it looks like to close it.
SIAWLS Community (Free) - My private Facebook group of almost 15,000 women having the real conversations about sex and intimacy after weight loss surgery.
Books
Skin Deep (coming soon) for post-WLS women.
She Makes Bad Decisions (memoir coming soon) for every woman who's ever lit her own life on fire chasing love.
Not sure where you fit? Book a Crown Check™ and I'll help you figure it out.

Sex Dr. V’s clinical specialty sits at the intersection of identity, concept, intimacy, and transformation - specifically for women navigating:
Life after bariatric surgery, GLP-1s, or major weight loss
Body image and the dressed-vs-undressed split
Sexual health, desire, and intimacy concerns
Post-divorce identity work
Relationship dysfunction and pattern-breaking
Self-abandonment, people-pleasing, and fawn responses
Grief - of relationships, of past selves, of the life you thought you were going to have
If you've done the work, read the books, taken the programs, and you still feel stuck - I'm probably the right person to talk to.
-
Yes, yes, and yes!
While my brand and most of my content speak to women (because women are the overwhelming majority of my practice), I work with individuals of all genders, couples, and LGBTQ+ clients. My practice is affirming, and my training in sexual health and intimacy means I can hold space for a wide range of relationship structures and identities.
Jody also works with adolescents, families, and individuals across the lifespan - a great option for PA residents looking for family or teen-focused work.
-
If you're looking for licensed therapy, I can only see clients in NJ or PA (and Jody in PA) - that's a licensure thing, not a preference thing.
But if you're looking for support with identity work, confidence, intimacy, and the After Identity Gap™, my coaching programs - including NCP and the Crown Check™ - are available worldwide.
You don't have to be in my state to do the work with me. Most of the women in my community aren't.
-

Crown Check™ is a 20-minute one-on-one consultation with me - think of it as a no-BS conversation to figure out what you actually need.
Here's what we do:
You tell me what's going on
I tell you honestly what I think would help
We map out next steps together - whether that's therapy, NCP, the masterclass, a referral, or nothing at all
It's $97 flat. No insurance. No pressure. No sales pitch.
If I'm not the right person, I'll tell you. If I am, we'll talk about how to get started. Either way, you leave with clarity - which is often the most valuable part.
-
You don't need to have it all figured out! You don't need to know where to start. You don't need to explain yourself perfectly.
You just need to show up. I'll do the rest.
-
All of the above, actually - and the difference matters.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in NJ and PA. That's a clinical mental health credential that allows me to diagnose and treat mental health concerns.
I'm a Clinical Sexologist which means I hold specialized training in human sexuality, sexual health, and intimacy. This informs how I work across all my services.
I'm a Coach for when I'm working in non-clinical capacities the Naked Confidence Protocol™, workshops, group programs, Crown Checks™. Coaching isn't clinical therapy. It's structured, skills-based, forward-focused identity work.
I'm a Researcher in that my doctoral research with 825 women became the foundation of The After Identity Gap™ framework.
I'm an Educator in that I teach undergraduate courses at various schools each semester throughout the State of New Jersey and I teach graduate-level counseling courses full time at Keiser University.
Depending on what you need, you'll get a different version of me in a different container. But the thinking, the framework, and the intention are the same.
-
Short version:
Therapy = clinical, diagnosis-eligible, licensure-based, limited to NJ/PA (me) or PA (Jody).
Coaching = non-clinical, skills-based, available worldwide. My coaching programs focus on identity integration, confidence, intimacy, and post-transformation work.
Both are real. Both are valuable. They're just different tools for different work.
-
Honest answer: it depends on what you're bringing in.
Some clients come for a specific situation and wrap up in 8–12 sessions. Others do deeper, longer-term work over months or years. I don't believe in dragging things out - if the work is done, I'll tell you. If we need to keep going, I'll tell you that too.
At your first session, we'll talk about what you want to get out of therapy and roughly how long I think that might take.
-
If you want to participate in NCP, coaching, or a Crown Check™ while maintaining a separate therapy relationship - yes, absolutely. A lot of my NCP clients do exactly that! Coaching and therapy are complementary, not competitive.
If you want to start therapy with me or Jody while you're in another clinical therapy relationship, we'd need to talk through how that works ethically. Generally, I'd recommend wrapping one before starting another - or having a clear conversation with your current therapist.
-
Then I'm not the right fit, and you should work with someone who is!
I'd rather you do the work with the right person than sit across from me for months trying to make it work. If that's what comes out of our first session or your Crown Check™, I'll tell you honestly - and I'll help you find the right referral if I can.
Your wellbeing is the priority - always!!
-
Not directly. We’re a private-pay provider.
But if your insurance plan has out-of-network (OON) benefits, you can still use them. I've partnered with Thrizer to handle the whole OON process automatically - no superbills, no phone calls to your insurance company, no chasing reimbursement checks.
-
Two ways:
Use my Thrizer widget — takes 2 minutes: eligibility.thrizer.com/panna
Contact the back of your health insurance card. Look for the number for member services or customer service. They may also have a website,. Follow the prompts to talk to someone who can give you the most accurate info.
Thrizer will tell you whether you have OON benefits, your deductible amount, and your estimated reimbursement per session.
-
Thrizer is a third-party billing platform that handles OON insurance claims for private-pay therapists. Instead of me handing you a superbill and sending you off to figure out your insurance company's portal alone, Thrizer does all of it for you.
Here's how it works:
-
Depends on where you are with your deductible:
Before you've met your deductible: You pay my full rate. Thrizer submits the claim. Any reimbursement goes toward your deductible. No Thrizer fees during this phase.
After you've met your deductible - two options:
Option 1 - Reduced rate upfront. You pay only your portion (what insurance wouldn't cover) plus a 5% Thrizer processing fee. No waiting on reimbursement.
Option 2 - Full rate, reimbursed later. You pay my full rate, Thrizer submits the claim, reimbursement hits your bank account. Thrizer takes 1% off the reimbursement.
Most clients prefer Option 1 once their deductible is met.
-
You're welcome to pay privately, no questions asked. Some clients choose this because:
They don't want a mental health diagnosis on their insurance record
They want maximum privacy around our work
Their plan doesn't offer OON benefits
They want the simplest possible process
They want a tax write-off
Your choice. Either works.

If you came with me or Jody from another platform, the platform we worked with you on previously is where your documentation is housed.
-
We require 24-48 hours notice for cancellations or late reschedules.

No. Sex Dr. V is a licensed professional counselor in NJ and PA and clinical sexologist, and Jody is a licensed professional counselor in PA.
We are not psychiatrists.
If medication becomes part of your care plan, I'll coordinate with your prescriber or help you find one.
